Do you have any recipes that are so easy to make they are almost embarrassing? This vegan chili cheese dip is mine. People go crazy for this dip. It is perfect to bring to parties that will be filled with non-vegans or vegan skeptics. No one ever guesses that it is vegan and people inhale it. The catch is that there are exactly 2 ingredients and it takes 5 minutes to make. So while everyone raves about this fantastic recipe you will cringe a bit knowing exactly how much effort you put into making this dip.
I make this vegan chili cheese dip for parties, potlucks, holidays and anytime we are watching a big football or basketball game. I always have the ingredients on hand. Right now everyone is a Warrior’s fan in the Bay Area (NBA playoffs). I made this on Saturday night as we watched the Warrior’s play the Memphis Grizzlies. Sadly the Warriors lost, but the dip was delicious.
To prepare the dip (and I use the word prepare lightly) you mix 2 cans of vegan chili together with 2/3 of an 8 oz container of vegan cream cheese in a small saucepan. I use Trader Joe’s chili or Amy’s chili, and Trader Joe’s vegan cream cheese or Daiya cream cheese. Heat the dip until the cream cheese melts completely into the chili. And serve. See…very, very, very easy. I do normally add a little Tabasco as well, but you can leave that off if you or your family are not into spicy foods.
I have to credit my sister and her roommate for this creation. We went to their house for a graduation party years ago and they made us this dip. We all raved about it and then they told us how easy it is to make.
Give this recipe a try next time you are watching a game or having a potluck. Your guests will love it. My best friend’s husband asks for this dip every time he comes over. In fact he checks to make sure I’m making this before he arrives! Hope you enjoy it as much as he does.
